                “A Journey of Self-Awareness”

Kim Ives Bailey, MFT - Psychotherapist, Group Therapist, Burlingame, San Mateo, California

Individual therapy is difficult work, but it can also be one of the most rewarding journeys possible. On this journey, the client is responsible for bringing the motivation and enthusiasm necessary to change the behavior patterns in their life they feel are adversely affecting them.

Individual therapy is also a wonderful place to build trust, and I enjoy working with my clients to bring about the self-awareness and self-acceptance necessary to make this trust possible. Only in a trusting relationship can we truly open up and begin to look at, and work on, parts of our personality we may not know, or may not want to know.

My role as therapist in individual therapy is to help my clients live as consciously as possible and to be their guide on their own path to self-fulfillment. Individual therapy can be dedicated to very specific, focused and intensive work, or to more generalized work at your discretion. My job as my client’s guide is to help them explore at a pace and depth of their choosing.

I encourage you to to take that first step towards a greater understanding and appreciation of yourself and your abilities. Begin the journey of individual therapy and be surprised at how rewarding self-discovery can be!
